If the crowd is rockin', we'll keep em' rockin'.
If the crowd is dancin', we'll keep em' dancin'.
If the crowd drinkin', we'll sound even better!
Every member of The Pulse has decades of playing experience and a deep understanding of the type of material (and volume) that works for all demographics and venues.

Michael Gordon is a well-seasoned musician with many years of experience. On the drums with THE PULSE, Mike’s superb percussion and eclectic vocal skills are upfront and center. Though originally from St. Louis, he has lived and worked in Los Angeles and has traveled as a road musician, playing in backing bands for Johnnie Johnson, The Coasters, The Drifters, and Chuck Berry, as well as opening acts for America, Earth, Wind, & Fire, The Guess Who, REO Speedwagon, and Willie Nelson (not to mention—but we will!—comedians Steve Martin, Allan Thicke, and Norm Crosby). Here in St. Louis, he has worked in many bands and was the first drummer for local favorite Mama’s Pride.
“The PULSE knows how to get an audience involved! People connect to live music, and for me, seeing a crowd have fun never gets old!”
Originally from Chicago, Christine Ackermann is a dynamic and engaging front person with an impressive vocal range and impeccable keyboard skills. Christine began her career in rock bands as early as the seventh grade. Initially attending KU as a scholarship student in classical piano performance, Christine changed her course (and major) and joined the popular college rock band, Jasper. Other pop/rock ventures include Kansas City’s The World of Suzy Wong, and here in STL High Maintenance, The Customers, Max Cherry, and now THE PULSE!
“Music has always been my passion, and I am so excited to be playing with THE PULSE. Our goal is to play a variety of popular music that people of all ages will enjoy. This band is musically outstanding and our enthusiasm is contagious!”
A St. Louis native, Leo Stoff was destined to be onstage! With an incredible vocal range and solid skills on the keys, Leo delivers dynamic performances and effortlessly engages any crowd. He has performed in Branson and Nashville, and you may have seen him with Flybilly and as local legend Mr. Boogie. Now with THE PULSE, Leo’s energy continues to pull people in. Whether the song is fast or slow, get ready to dance, because when Leo gets grooving, people get moving!
“Variety is the spice of life and is exactly what THE PULSE brings!”
Originally from California, Keith Clark has played guitar in rock bands since he was a teenager. He is a master of 70's and 80's rock and roll, commanding the most infamous solos and guitar licks with precision and finesse. In St. Louis, Keith joined a “trop rock” band featuring music by Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, Zach Brown, as well as many other festive party favorites. Other local classic rock and pop projects include Memphis Ride and Max Cherry.
"THE PULSE is my most ambitious project to date. Our song selection displays a high level of musicality while still appealing to almost any demographic. Our vocals are amazing and our reproduction of these classic rock and dance covers is spot on!"
Kishen Mahendra is from Cincinnati, Ohio. As a teenager, Kishen started playing piano, saxophone, and bass guitar at pool parties and backyard gigs. Now in St. Louis, Kishen persuades the beat of the PULSE with his engaging and driving bass lines. His effortless execution of incredibly difficult passages is—to say the least—impressive. Kishen is fluent in genres ranging from jazz to rock to country, explaining his unique blend of skill, tone, and feel. Just name a song, and Kishen starts playing it!
“I’m jazzed to be in THE PULSE. This band has the expertise and versatility to make any event a success!”
